Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.
Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.
Travellers can park their car and explore the old town of this beautiful resort on foot. Home to 17 km of Blue Flag sandy beaches like Granatilla, the Playa de los Genoveses and the Playa de Monsul, the modern part of this coastal resort is an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, sailing and surfing. Golf lovers can visit the 18-hole courses of the Marina Golf and Desert Springs.
Almería Airport is about 55 km from Mojacar and has flights to big cities like London, Brussels and Barcelona. Check the Booking.com deals and choose from a variety of hotels, apartments and guest houses in Mojacar or the nearby cities of Vera and Carboneras.

Wonderful beaches with a good variety of gift shops and restaurants serving different types of food to suit most people. A visit to Pueblo Mojacar is a must. It is very pretty with its white houses, although it is very hilly. Some people might find it very tiring for walking around. However, the market there on Wednesday mornings is worth a visit and the bus service is brilliant - every half hour or there about. The local people we met in shops, etc, were all very pleasant.

We drove to where the old Mines are and there is a fabulous walkway along the cliff tops with breathtaking view and educational information points about the iron ore and how it was mined.
Teto's Bar is a very well known beach bar from the 60's and still has that hip sort of feel to it - serves fabulous authentic paella as well as other foods.
Went to Garucha (local buses go)to watch the fishermen bringing there catch into the market to sell and then ate in Garucha in a little gem of a restaurant and winery called Al Tikar (the menu del dia is excellent and inexpensive.
Very accessible promenade for daily excercise.
There are many other eateries like the modern Auraora restaurant just accross the road which we frequented a few times as they have two sports TV's playing at the bar.
The old town 'El Pueblo' is an enchanting white washed village in the hills, again the Urbanos de Mojacar will get you there and there is a bus stop just outside the hotel.

Beautiful lively seaside resort with plenty of good bars, restaurants and live music venues. Easy to get around using taxis or the local bus service.
The resort was much bigger than expected and provides fantastic facilities for families and young people but could pose problems for older, less mobile people due to it's size and many steps.

We stayed in Mojacar because we were revisiting all our old friends in the general area and it was the ideal base.
The restaurants are plentiful and very good quality.
Although we are not beach people they are excellent as is the promenade, very walkable.
There is an excellent bus service although we did not need it.
If you have a car drive down to the Cabo de Gata, our favourite place in Spain. Or visit the historical city of Almeria.
If you are a film buff then Almeria is the Spanish Hollywood. Three cowboy towns near Tabernas and a Cine Museum in Almeria City.

Although we were half board we lunched at various different eateries close to the hotel. The beach is probably the best in Mojacar and the walks are fantastic. Although we stayed at the quiet end of Mojacar there are busses and taxis if you do not have a car and are quite cheap. It has a good commericial centre with presents for home, goodies for you and very nice outdoor restaurants. Not too many children but in June and part of July the students arrive and can get a little noisy. Overall in my opinion Majacar is th place for me.

Weather was very windy and cold initially but we enjoyed our golfing experiences. We had to eat out a lot because there was no oven in our apartment but found fabulous restaurants.
we love the area .It has everything.
the location was great. in between the beach and the pueblo. right on a bus stop. super hotel parking. loved the pool area. gardens were a delight, well manicured. breakfast was simple but enough. Rooms clean and simple. lovely balcony space. thought overlooking the mini roundabout would be noisy but doors are double glazed and kept the noise out. staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. air conditioning very welcome.
Hotel staff were very pleasant ! Room very comfortable and immaculately clean !! Towels and toiletries replaced every day ! Cannot fault the service they provided ! Lovely swimming pools & Jacuzzi ! Bus stop near hotel for Mojacar pueblo and Garrucha ! Hotel very Covid compliant ,felt safe here ! Entertainment a bit disappointing ,stayed 4 nights and no real good entertainment on !!
Stunning terrace with amazing view, a must for watching the sunsets. Quirky cave house style apartment. Comfortable double bed in main room, bathroom and kitchen clean. Supplied all you needed i.e. towels, toilet roll, toiletries, tea towels etc. Amazing location right in the centre of the old town, so many bars and restaurants nearby however not noisy at all.
I go to the hotel Continental a lot. It’s an absolutely fabulous hotel in an ideal location on the Playa. They have lots of weekend entertainment now which is really good absolutely beautiful locations set right on the beach. I would recommend this to anybody looking to stay in Mojacar. Buses run outside right to the other end.
Room was fine, with small kitchen/diner, bedroom and bathroom. Small balcony overlooking very pleasant and expansive gardens, complete with many sunbeds. Great pool with 2 x lifegaurds in attendance. Very nice 'village square' feel to thge main complex with shopes, bar and cafe around edge, complete witnh entertainment stage.
Very nice welcome; easy check-in. Comfortable room - not big but suitable for the two of us, with a nice little balcony.
Good breakfast, quite generous; perfect to start the day!
Car park right outside the hotel.
A few steps away from the beach.
Overall an excellent value! Highly recommended!!
It’s a 1 star hotel so can’t ask for too much from it. I chose to stay there because there was no availability at other 3 or 4 star hotels. I think it’s a bit overpriced since better hotels were like 60€ more for the 4 nights that I stayed so the price is very expensive for what it offers.
Very well located in the highest part of the old town of Mojàcar. A warm welcome by the friendly staff, a nice, clean little room with basic comfort and a very good bed. Well functioning WiFi. An absolutely beautiful choice of breakfast possibilities, offered on the roof terrace.
absolutely everything!! host amazing, room amazing. shower not the best but who cares for couple nights! loved it! been to Mojacar a lot of times, first time in Pueblo and def recommend, especially hostal Arco Plaza
The bed had a tempura mattress and it was the best bed I’ve ever slept in. Pillows super comfy also. This hotel is exceptional. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The food was lovely.
Great location, views of the beach, walking distance to Garrucha and easy drive to Mojacar old town and beach front restaurants. Outdoor facilities were lovely- pool, terrace and garden
The view was fantastic and unencumbered. The place was clean, neat and tidy with good decor throughout. It is right next to Mojacar old town, which is a beautiful place.
